Does anybody here take the Greens seriously?

This is interesting - to me at least. Universal income and Laffer at 35 mins, but that's not a particularly interesting bit.

I feel Richard contradicts himself too often, and, like most pundits, lacks detail. Calls Laffer, then says high income tax rates to support UBI would encourage tax evasion. Isn’t that what the Laffer curve is all about? Says inflation is good, then says 2% is arbitrary (which it is), but, does not offer anything on what the figure should be.

It's a YouTube video for the masses. My guess is if you contact him he'll talk you through the detail, he seems like that sort of bloke.

Yes, I have followed his podcast, and, one of my drinking pals is a convert to him, always bending my ear about him. I am afraid I am not convinced personally.

Another week, another plus one for the Green Party, putting them in second place (just).

Caveat we know that votes do not translate into seats.

Like said, he is a populist and no more "good" than any other populist for being green.
Polanski's thoughts on Putin and nuclear weapons is daft and he's either evading a difficult (or complex) question or showing his lack of understanding. He now has less than a year before needing to stand for re-election but with their poll ratings (maybe largely driven by Labour's failing) will probably make his re-election more likely.

Back when I was a member they focused more on the Green agenda and green policies. But I feel Mr Polanski is changing it to be just another left wing party.

It always has been a challenge when they seek election as to what their policies would be beyond the green agenda. I suppose the big question is how much traction they can gain from the left given that Starmer has moved Labour to be a right wing party - and a lot depends how soon Starmer is replaced (and by whom) as well as what happens with the Fruit & Nut Party as well as the state of things in several years time., a lot can change and the electorate will be forgetting a lot.

Having been a Green Party member in the past, having voted Green recently and being fairly impressed with my current Green MP I probably wouldn't be voting Green were there an election tomorrow (as increasingly unimpressed by Polanski).

Do your own research! This will save wasting everybody else's time.

What is the Green Party policy for housing asylum seekers?

The UK Green Party’s policy is to provide asylum seekers with safe, dignified housing in communities rather than in detention centres or isolated facilities. They oppose the use of military sites or hotels as mass accommodation and instead advocate for fair dispersal, access to social housing, and the right to work while claims are processed.
