He seems determined to take the party further left, which is fine if that's what members genuinely want but it does seem to be based on an appeal to younger voters as opposed to long standing environmentalist Green supporters. I think new Green voters perhaps won't be as loyal long term as the older ones and, as we know from Brexit, what they say in an opinion survey doesn't necessarily translate into turning out to vote. (Same applies re opinion polls/voting and Reform, imo anyway).

Personally I think the increase in Green Party membership & support is far more down to the failure of Labour than anything Mr Polanski is doing. I regard him as a weakness

He's also made some complete disasters which highlighted his complete lack of knowledge. Rory Stewart/Alisttair Campbell did a podcast episode interviewing him and they subsequently commented how they gave him a really "easy time" yet he made a complete fool of himself regarding the economy. He didn't even know the difference between deficit and debt.

I agree he's managing a lot more TV appearances than his predecessors but again, that may or may not be linked to the growth of Reform in polls where media is trying to seek some sort of balance.

At the moment my ballot paper doesn't have a "None of the above" box to tick so Green is the next best option but I wonder if many faced with a ballot paper will worry about "what if he became PM?" which he never would) but faced with that thought people might revert to a safer if worse choice.

Anyone with any sense will look at where they live and look at who has a chance of winning. Then back the best option that isn't Reform.
It doesn't matter whether it's Labour, Green or Lib Dem, just vote for the person that isn't going to put Farage in charge of the country.

For me, if I can't support the "least bad" then I'd have a real problem voting for them. I might vote strategically where I could support the strategic option. I'm long term towards the left voter/supporter yet if there was an election tomorrow with the current candidates I could not vote Labour irrespective of any strategic imperative.

I get it, but by not voting for what you don't want you might end up getting what you really don't want
