Is this satire?

It's economic wishful thinking which ignores the the benefits that taxation brings in providing services, from utilities to health, to everyone, thus contributing to a more equal society.

I am often reminded of the saying/expression "We should be a society not an economy".

In what way is it economic wishful thinking?
Increase the personal allowance, increase the basic rate band. The added income received will get spent, that will mean increased VAT revenues, lead to more jobs, which leads to more corporation tax, more income tax and more VAT revenues.
Unless you are economically illiterate, that is economic fact.
It's not about reducing the total tax take, or ignoring the benefits taxation can bring.

Yeah confused me because how can trickle-down start at the bottom end?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trickle-up_economics - maybe it's capillary action?

Though with the ever widening divide between Americas poorest and the richest, with Amazon workers often having to rely on government hand-outs to survive, while Bezos (net worth $193bn) denies them union rights and living wages, I think it's got some way to go before the poorest will have surplus to spend on, er, stuff from Amazon.

Doesn't seem terribly Green... I genuinely don't really know what they stand for now, apart from getting elected.

I think Polanski's comment on the sentence of the Palestine Action break-in and violence against the Police probably not too sensible
Green Party Leader Zack Polanski said it was "gut-wrenching to see four young people jailed for direct action against an arms supplier to Israel".
He added that the sentence was a "truly dangerous attack on the right to protest".

For me commenting on sentencing if you haven't attended the trial and appreciate the detail, considerations, legal issues, etc. is always difficult.
But my impression is that in this case whilst I can't see the "terrorism", I can see criminal damage and I think attacking a Police Officer with a sledge hammer fracturing the officer's spine goes well outside "lawful protest", etc.

I think Polanski would have been more sensible to have kept his mouth shut on this occasion.

I think you'll find that you're wasting your time trying to explain the negative aspects of ever rising taxation to economically ignorant or deluded lefties. Apparently there is no limit to how much you can tax people and businesses and its all justified because apparently its fair.

It's a balancing act. The key balance though is in ensuring that those that can afford to pay more tax, pay more tax.
The complicating factor is that taxation makes the assumption that the cost of living is the same wherever you are in the country.

In London the cost of living is around £2.5k to £3k per month. In Middlesborough it's £1500 to £1900.

The next issue is what happens if you become super rich. Many people feel that the super rich should be paying more.

Where did you pluck those figures from?
