In addition to the bridge I have mentioned previously, I know someone who is involved in the preparation for marketing a big property at one end of The Mall. He could, for a small commission, help you get to the head of the queue. It is all very hush hush, so please don't share this in any public forum.

As a side note, the Beeb decided to run an article today about Trump's assertion that the US importing loads of European cars but very few European countries import American cars.

This detailed 1000 word analysis of why Europeans don't buy American cars could have been more succinctly summed up as

"Because they are oversized petrol guzzling pieces of crap with the exception of Tesla which is now sadly aligned with the US Nazi party."

The daft thing about Europe not buying enough US cars is that European Governments don't buy cars but rather members of the public do. If more members of the public want eg a Jeeps then more will be imported, if public are not interested in buying eg Jeeps then few Jeeps will be imported. Imports are based on customer demand rather than Government policy.

The other aspect to US car imports is that the US car markets is very different from the European/UK car market. In the US fuel is cheap and vehicles are generally large whereas in Europe/UK fuel is expensive and cars are generally smaller. So US car production does not closely reflect European/UK consumer demand.

Again, Trump fails to appreciate commercial reality (just like he doesn't appreciate the difference between purchase tax and import duties).

JD Vance told European leaders, if you want our support, allow free speech, no matter which side it comes from.
And don't ban press reporting just because they don't use a new name eg banning AP News from Oval Office briefings, from Air Force One (ie when other reporters are allowed) and just because their international readership knows the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of Mexico so they don't use Trump's new name. Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Press and he feels he can lecture all Europe ... Beggars belief.

The article says there's a 10% EU tariff on US made cars. The US imposes only a 2.5% tariff. Yes, there's less demand here for most US vehicles, and high US demand for prestige UK and German brands, but you can't really complain if the US wants to level the playing field on tariffs.

This sounds more like a push to get the big European brands to extend their manufacturing inside the US, still giving US buyers a product they want and also generating US jobs.

If they want to charge a 10% tariff to make it harder for Americans to buy good cars, that's up to them. It's not much of a bargaining chip though as we don't want their crap cars.

Trouble is/are:
US luxury high end cars sold in Europe/UK are not so price sensitive.

Europe/UK manufacturers realise that in 4 years there may easily be a return to sanity and given the effort and time to setup US manufacturing will probably "sit it out".

Just look at Vance's basis for his lecture eg Vance claimed that in Scotland people living within an abortion clinic safe access zone praying in private in their own homes would be breaking the law! Reality: This is an untruth perpetrated by a Conservative Christian Tick-Tock'er. Private prayer at home is not prohibited within safe access zones and no letter has ever suggested it was.

Document it clearly states "... if they can be seen or heard within the zone and are done intentionally or recklessly".

So contrary to Vance's claims the law does state that the actions are banned if they are likely to cause alarm or distress to someone accessing abortion services. Silent prayer in a home which caused no distress and alarm to other would not fall under this category.

Beggars belief that US Gov. is now taking its information frim Tick-tok "influencers" with their own agenda rather thst the real world.

Read the letter. As I said above it clearly states ".... if they can be seen or heard within the zone and are done intentionally or recklessly".

With all the resources of the US Government best they can do is a tick-tok "influencer" with personal agenda. Entire US Gov. resources unable to spend 2 mins on Google to check their Vice President allegations resulting in unfounded, untrue allegations and further loss of US Gov. credibility.

True, but it's a bit churlish to complain about US tariffs when the EU ones are higher. The EU plan to put 35% on Chinese evs, plus the standard 10% tariff, to protect European manufacturers. Trump is doing the same.

The US market is worth $17 billion a year to German manufacturers. VW are struggling a bit at the moment so the sit-it-out option could be a bit painful for 4 years. If Vance is popular it will be 12.

'BMW CEO Oliver Zipse:

"Let's create uniform conditions: a tariff rate of 2.5 percent on both sides," demanded Zipse'.
