My sister has loved there for nearly 40 years. My mate has two businesses there of which I'm an investor. It's a fantastic country, even with it's failings

It has fantastic geography.

There's a lot to like about the society also. But it is, overall, absolutely, batshot crazy. Basically, it is everyone for themselves, with a veneer of white picket fences.

For context, the average wage in the US is about 50% more than the UK, with about 12% of that taken up by a higher cost of living.

The *median* wage, however,.is more like 10% higher.

That means someone like me, if I didn't want to have any free time, would be quids in by at least 50%.

But for most people, not so much. Sorry chaps. And with no safety net provided by the state, and very few employment rights.

Well, until you fall ill and have to pay for a hospital stay...

My sister has always had medical insurance through work.

She's a bit of a workaholic even as she ages.

She has always been that way, left school at 16, left the UK at 18, working on cruise ships.

She has a very front facing personable manner, that has served her well, and her ability to learn languages, hard work ethic.

She now works even though getting on on age for a billionaires retirement complex. She has a decent 401k retirement package I believe so should be OK come the day she retires properly

They've agreed to kick us in the bollocks slightly less hard than they said they would.

A truly special relationship.

Not sure any Argentinian would appreciate being called American.

On the contrary, in most of the continent they resent the fact that the US has appropriated the continent name. In Spanish speaking countries America is used to refer to the whole continent and Estados Unidos to refer to the country that takes up about a third of North America.
