Who would have thought that not all lawyers are soulless ghouls like Giuliani.

A life time of working within a set legal framework, then seeing it being ripped apart against all your professional instincts can’t be easy.
Especially when it seems the checks and balances to stop this sort of thing aren’t working.

According to the NYT, students in law, where once securing a government department position was sought after, are looking at other options.
The stats mean that 1 in 5 federal lawyers have quit.

He is quite happy to be breaking the system.

This is the trouble with the current version of right wing populism: they want to break systems, and that can be achieved – maybe in subtly different ways – whether or not the proponents are skilful or just incompetent loons, as both Brexit and Trump have proved. It's why I am pretty confident Farage would stop the NHS functioning with 12 months if he were PM, as it runs on a knife edge even when it's being run 'well' by people who want it to work well, such is the complexity. Everyone and every system in it is a vital component of a complex organisation, and all Farage would have to do would be the equivalent of putting diesel into a petrol car's fuel tank.
