The “special relationship” was a Churchill invention to suit us at the time. It has since been one sided and only referenced by the US if it suited them.
I should point out that the current jilted allies were only too happy to look the other way at the unjust US policies that also benefitted them. That's why "the global south" show little sympathy for Ukraine, for instance.
