The unfortunate part is that neither does Farage and Co should they get into power.
Promising unicorns is not a viable plan.
You assume that Farage or his European counterparts care about keeping their election promises. I refer to Fararge comments after brexit was ''won'' about the 300million a week claim on a bus something like ''I knew it was wrong it was just not in my favor to point it out.''
Well, to be fair, it does seem to be a viable plan for winning elections and referendums.
yes lying and cheating often works in the short term.
Yes indeed. Sorry, I meant for what happens after the "win".
He does, he starts a fight, claims it's ''not his party anymore'' and starts a new one. (Remember Ukip)

Is it fair to say that no party in power will satisfy the electorate?
I think that is the case.

No party will satisfy ALL of the electorate (or, to be more precise, those who bother to vote), but, we have had long periods of same party government (mostly, if not all Conservative, I think, in my lifetime).

Sorry, I will clarify. Will any party satisfy the majority of the electorate? Will they still be happy after 6 months of any party in power?

If you said "Will they ALL still be happy after 6 months of any party in power?" then, "No".

If you said "will enough still be happy after 6 months of any party in power", then "perhaps"

As I said, we have had several instances of lengthy spells of the same party in power (in my lifetime), there was even a slogan at one stage "14 years of Tory misrule" if I recall correctly. We have even had 13 years of Labour Rule (3 consecutive election wins) during the Blair/Brown years.

This does not mean EVERYONE was happy with the Government during either of those periods, but, ENOUGH were happy enough to keep voting them in.

My answer to that one is no. I am talking about today and the future. The past is irrelevant at this point as so much has changed both in politics and the population. Today's population want everything, and they want it now!

You are of course entitled to that opinion, I just don't happen to share it, so, we will have to agree to disagree.
