That is entirely normal for the Express.

Indeed, but the fact that they feel it necessary to return to making stuff up, while not finding anything positive to say about their precious Brexit Britain, suggests that they can see the tide has turned.

Go on, explain your self because leave got 51.89% and remain got 48.11% of the votes.

Of the voting population, I think.

Often for constitutional change, referenda need 60% of registered voters to vote for the change, not of those who actually vote. Had Cameron not been so blasé/slapdash about it all, he might have not made it a simple majority of those voting, given the magnitude of the change.

72% turnout.

Except all I am asking for is 60% of the vote*. Which is less than 60% of the registered voters, obs.
If people are too lazy to vote then that is on them. It would have meant Brexit wouldn't have happened and the continuation since.

*Go back and read my original post on the matter.

but not of all votes. That was the percentage of votes cast. If you go by the percentage of the electorate, on 37.4% of the population wanted to leave. Not voting is apathy. People who are apathetic support the status quo. Therefore we did Brexit because just over a third of the population wanted to try it.

We should either have mandated voting or asked for at least a 60% result. Anything lower is not strong enough to support the consequence. As we have seen.

If you expect change to get 60% of the potential vote then nothing will change until we have mandatory voting. Something I am all in favour of.

In the Telegraph today. Shame he can't spell 'minuscule', as an emeritus professor at Cambridge. But maybe that's Cambridge for you...

Daughter was looking at applying for entertainment jobs with one of the big UK travel companies yesterday but got rejected at the first hurdle due to not having an EU passport. Some of the other companies do take UK passports but ultimately it’s more hassle for them so easier to recruit English speaking EU passport holders. It’s probably a good time to be an Irish performer. Nice to know that the votes of those approaching their graves are still affecting the lives of those just starting out and weren’t involved in the vote.
