Like I said he should of fecked off the disasterous people's vote and honoured the referendum.
If I had any criticism of Corbyn it would be that he tried to appease to many, should of been stronger there.
But we are where we are and at least with Starmer you know what your getting 🙄

The major problem for Corbyn was that it was a Tory Brexit and not a hard left Brexit.

What was hard left about Labour under Corbyn ? What was this supposed hard left Brexit.
Fairytales from the media.

The early part of the interview was very hard left. Public ownership of near everything was the theme.
It also explained his need for Brexit to happen.

The point is that the then leader quite properly took responsibility for the defeat by resigning, whereas the other lied his way to the top and is now in charge.

We'll quickly pass on the point that that you were wrong about my opinions on Starmer's share in the responsibility for the Brexit strategy.

The more important point is that as leader of a party at two consecutive GEs Corbyn had no other choice than to step down. Yes, it was done properly but would have been totally improper to do anything else.

Starmer's failure to get anywhere near his pre-election promises is lamentable, but he will not actually have the power to implement many of them unless Labour gets into power, and this is clearly a thread set up to praise Corbyn not bury Starmer.

Starmer's entire leadership to date has been one massive ridiculous performance of Not Being Corbyn.

13 million people voted for Corbyn's "hard left" manifesto in 2017 and 10 million in 2019.The 2019 manifesto was fairly moderate to be honest.
Unless we're all secret Trots that voted for him.

That's going down well in some quarters.

That doesn't necessarily mean he won by lying. The people voting might simply have wanted to get as far away from Corbyn as possible. I certainly did.

You're not a very typical Labour member. Starmer won thousands of votes by literally promising to maintain the transformative political agenda of the previous leadership, with a bit more polish. Turns out he can't even do the polish bit.

Mostly in quarters that want the Labour party destroyed or neutered as a serious political alternative.

Labour lost nearly 100,000 members in 2021 and ended the year with a £5m financial deficit, the party’s newly published accounts show.

A mass exodus of supporters saw the party’s membership – which stood at 523,332 at the end of 2020 – fall to 432,213 by the close of 2021.

The party Treasurers’ report describes 2021 as a “difficult and demanding year”, with staff redundancy packages to cut costs in the long run contributing to the financial black hole.

Labour's income from membership fees fell from £19.3m in 2020 to £16.2m in 2021, a £3.1m drop in income which made up the majority of its £5.2m deficit.

The size of the party’s loss represents a significant increase on 2020, when the party had a deficit of £1m. In 2019 the party had balanced the books, leaving a small surplus of £17,000.

That bit got him the leadership.

LOL. Disregarding for a minute how self-evidently ludicrous it is to discount the other half of the equation, anyone who did vote for him on that basis alone must seriously regret handing over their wallets for inspection.
