That's one way of admitting you're ignorant.

Chapeau.

I thought it was the wrong kind of ignorance for you

The latest GB News fad seems to be pumping out clickbait headlines to troll a 21 year old girl for having a 16 year old boyfriend mostly because he is a darts player and has done very well.

Click baiting is useful. Once you see two or three clickbaits for the same site, you know better than to time waste visiting the redge the bottom site.

Well I never, I didn't know that riveting bit of news until a GB News follower told me ;)

The concept of a ''gbnews'' or is it GB News? And if so what about news from elseware in the United kingdom? Are they excluded? And how to you recognise a GB News or GBnews-er? Do they smell a certain smell? eat certain stuff or drive certain cars? or something else pretty stereotypical, sounds a bit odd and not very inclusive to define a certain group like that, almost like some kind of outcast of the soceity.. but who am i right? You lot seem to have not problem mocking these people whoever they are.

It's pretty easy to recognise people who get their "news" from GBeebies.

I think you may have missed something in translation. GB News is a "news" channel created by Legatum and Paul Marshall. It specialises in recruiting right-wingers to spout their unfounded drivel. It repeatedly breaches its license - 6 times so far but a further 14 under investigation. It hosts people like La la Fox (sacked), Dan Wooton (sacked), Nigel Farage (not yet sacked), Jacob Rees Mogg, 30p Lee Anderson and many other Tory MPs who seem to have spare time on their hands. Most advertisers won't touch it with a barge pole and it routinely has very few viewers.

GB news viewing figures from 2022 were around a million per month, since Oct 22, they have climbed to over 6 million. They are ranked above talk TV and about half the viewing figures of Sky. Their viewing audience is still growing as well as the radio channel

Not bad for a recent newcomer.

F*ck it, I'm bored.

Post anything that GB News has stood by that's actually credible.

Then we can have a discussion about it on here.

I wish you every success.

How about
https://www.gbnews.com/news/post-office-scandal-police-investigation
there is also something about the weather
and lots of other perfectly normal news stories

This is the problem - it looks like a normal news website - and news TV channel

until you get into the opinion bits and look at how much prominence they give to each story

which is the danger - if people look at it and think it is just like the Daily Express then they might end up using it as their main news source
and their opinions move closer to that of the people running it

and you get more extreme views quite quickly

and their viewing figures are not trivial - not huge but enough to have a small effect which might just flip a few seats

In a place with Proportional Representation this would possibly allow extreme right (or left) wing people to end up as MPs
or - in our case - someone from Reform

It’s frustrating, someone who is close to me who’s old enough to be more street wise is working class from a poor mining town yet they are GB news and Torie. As I always say through discourse you can change peoples minds and make them see more clearly but I’m afraid this one is like flogging a dead horse. The subject has to be changed to avoid embarrassment. The type of people who blame immigrants for everything is sickening.

I used to work for a bloke who was very "traditional family" (i.e. "the wife" does everything in the house, all the kid stuff etc etc - he just earns the money) and wanted to send all the black people "back home" (and would pay for it!) and all that

apart from that he was a nice person - a great person to work for

he was also intelligent

The rest of teh team was more normal - or what I would call normal anyway
after several years of calling him out - gently - on everything we could see that his views had changed
We never made it an argument - and he would never change his mind what it was discussed - but by the time I left that company his views were a lot different
We just kept plugging away at it gently

The important part was that he was intelligent - so he listened and countered what we said - but having listened it made him think deep down
