Here's an example. The BBC publish an article about Hyrox which heavily features a trans identifying male. No mention that Lucy Gabriel is a trans identifying male. No mention that the author is also a trans identifying male - so therefore has a vested interest in how the issue is presented. No mention that the male author competes in the Women's category in running - against the regulations of UK Athletics.

No mention whatsoever that Gabriel broke Hyrox rules by competing in the female category where the exercises are different and a trans identifying male has athletic advantage. Nothing about how female Hyrox athletes might feel about it. This is activism passing itself off as impartial journalism

The article was free to view for a while. The damning indictment was when the BBC completely refused to run an article on the WPATH files.

I think she actually said '..pregnant people - women - the elderly, ...' . She didn't even replace 'pregnant people', she just clarified who they were talking about. That the BBC think that single word is worthy of admonishment when they have a news department with a group of activists directing the narrative on women's rights issues and suppressing valid news items is absolutely incredible really.

Odd how people are questioning about other news outlets (as we should be of them all) but have no curiosity about whether the national broadcaster is impartial on this issue.

Because the article is just about Hyrox? It's not relevant to the article which is just information about Hyrox...

You honestly don't think the fact that the athlete is male and competing in the female class against Hyrox rules was a deliberate omission? Or that there's a conflict of interest in the reporting? If this was a flattering piece about an able bodied athlete competing in the paraolympics would you feel the same? Or a drug cheat?

It was an article that presented a contentious issue - men in women's sports - as normalised. It is not impartial to ignore all the obvious points that such athletes create. It's biased reporting.

Well no, because it would be relevant. It's just a puff piece for a sport most people haven't heard of. It doesn't mention any real competition or go into league tables and results. It's just an informational.

By your own admission it didn't as it made no mention of men in women's sports or transgender women. It talked only about women. Yes, one of those women was transgender but that wasn't relevant to the content. It wasn't an article about trans inclusion in women's sport, and to be honest if you didn't assess from the picture or know that one of the commentators was a transwoman you wouldn't pick up on it at all.

Don't get me wrong - I'm more on your side of the fence when it comes to transwomen taking part in elite sport and ensuring a fair and level playing field for biological women, but this article was about Hyrox and nothing else.

Turn your lights on - I think you may be jumping at shadows...

Does that include girls in sport at school

You wouldn't say the same if it was an article that failed to mention the 'disabled' athlete was able bodied or that the athlete was doping.

It's a disingenuous article that you might expect in Pink News, not from the BBC.
It's biased because of the omission in presenting relevant facts, facts that if it related to any other issue would not be dismissed so easily.

That bold is more relevant.

It was an article that presented male inclusion in female sports, by a journalist who himself competes in female sports, as normalised and not worthy of comment, when in fact it is highly contentious.

No we are not.

Keep males out of female sports

Reads like amplification of manufactured outrage. Smith doesn't seem to the perfect demonstration of males robbing females of results through superior biology.

Difficult to imagine a person being so traumatised at losing the 151st place in the female competition.
