Yes, such a wonderful voice. I remember him reciting Oscar Wilde's The Harlot's House on Wogan. Would have loved to have seen his Oscar Wilde one man show.

There are certainly figures whose role in this saga deserves more analysis, like Polly Carmichael of GIDS, Susie Green of Mermaids, and the 2 Dr Webberleys, but there's little chance of anybody being admonished let alone struck off (Michael Webberley already has been) . The buck passing has already started with Stonewall's Ruth Hunt back pedalling and blaming the doctors and there'll be more of this.

There's a bit of it here:

The bit from Wogan is on You Tube too. I think there's audio of the lp of him reading poetry on there too. Price was too old to play Wilde really but he carries it off very well. He did make some schlocky horror films but he really was a very fine actor. Theatre of Blood has another favourite, Diana Rigg, in it, and like the Dr Phibes films has so many British characters actors in that you can forgive the silliness.

Agreed. An absolute legend. So was Diana Rigg, last seen in Last Night in Soho which is well worth a watch.

Elly, my other half, encountered Rigg at a party. She was holding court to an enthralled group of younger men. Elly was in awe.

Ok it's the Telegraph so hardly unbiased, but

'Mr Harvie also said he wanted to be “really, really clear” that a decision last week to suspend the use of puberty blockers in Scotland in the wake of the review was made by clinicians and not ministers.'

doesn't really bear scrutiny.

Anyone looking for unbiased reporting is really only after that which reflects their own bias.
But to comment on the Telegraph report, the Cass report isn't, and doesn't pretend to be, a scientific document.

Patrick Harvie, the Scottish Greens’ co-leader, said there were “far too many criticisms of it” for him to accept it as a “valid scientific document”

Ok, you're referring to this bit. Patrick Harvie does appear to have misunderstood what the Cassette report is.

Trying to keep the Greens onside perhaps as they've threatened to leave the government over puberty blockers and reneging on targets.

Rowling's comments as reported in said paper.

I think we could give a little leeway, given that the review is an independent review *of* scientific documents. So yes, it isn't scientific in it's own right, but it is, nevertheless based on science. It's not just been made up out of belief. I suspect that was what JKR was alluding to.

She does often talk sense. There is a very good thread here about the campaigns of harassment against people who have dared to suggest discussion and debate to find the best solutions.

No emojis any more from the laughing emoji boy who was just 'having a laugh'. It's now blatant trolling, with memes and fascist like propaganda. Trans erasure was always the programme, with the insistence that the majority of people support his views.

A number of surveys show that potholes concern people more than the fascist cries about drag queen story time, women's spaces, the woke blob, etc that the Tories are focussing on. While the surveys also show that the issues and concerns that people are focussed on are the same things that the Tories are failing at ...
