They are trying to invite a revolution. By hurting the people they want to carry it out so badly they have no other option.
These are dark times.
It doesn't sound like they are endearing themselves to the people of Tehran.

No. Nor a Canadian accent when I was there. Just the odd turn of phrase, and I spoke a bit slower in some circumstances I think, to enable me to actually communicate.
Okay I believe you. I need some work done, btw.Joking aside (am I joking?... not sure)...
I know that my writing style tends towards 'correct' (even if I get told off by @PurplePenguin for using trendy lingo like 'ratioed'), as I do care about communicating my thoughts vaguely efficiently and with clarity. With a bit of sweariness pooped in for 'colour' and 'authenticity'. I can do academic writing pretty well, and argued the finer points with my MA tutor (and generally won).
But I'm anything but posh. I was once amused by a nearish neighbour, who had come into money via marriage and was living in a nearby 'posh' house (mine is a two-up, two-down), who asked me if I did 'labouring', as they needed some manual work doing. I guess I looked the part, in my tiny house.
If you'll forgive the unrequested style guide, "If one makes the argument..." etc. (as opposed to "If you...") is an elegant way out of suggesting that you're addressing an individual. I've occasionally realised that an observation I've made sounds personal, when I've had no intention of being personal!
Make sure you hand your English homework in on time, MG, or you might get a detention! 😜🤣

Proofreading your posts for spelling and grammar?
As an aside, one of my favourite ever language related anecdotes was a guy who had gone to visit a friend and his wife (Tina, this will become relevant!) in a certain Black Country town.I know, there is just something about the addressing of "one" that, as someone born and raised in the Black Country, I just cannot bring myself to use.
It's wot poshos would say ain't it! 😂
They are typed perfectly and autouncorrected.

Edit* just noticed First Aspect's comment!
So you're pretending *not* to be posh?
Certainly not. There is not, and never will be, a single person from the Black Country that is actually posh. It is an impossibility, the accent will not allow it!
It seems this war has the potential to end Trump, and for that reason I hope the yanks have solicited a protracted, very bloody nose. It's just a mobster demand for a regime that'll give all the oil to Trump, with the Kurds doing all the work to enable it.
I'm increasingly seeing this as a totally unholy alliance between Trumplandia and Israel to mould the world order to benefit their respective aims politically and financially. I'll admit that it leaves my head in a funny place with regards my sympathies towards Iran and both its people and government, as I want the naked assault on its independence to fail, but at the same time know that its regime is reprehensible, and I'm not sure what's the 'least worst'.
