The problem is that the only way to reverse course is to lean on Israel to stop being genocidal fückers, which is not going to happen.

If every other country stays out of it, and Trump loses internal support, then Trump becomes very isolated and either doubles down or tells Bibi to stop. And without US support Israel doesn’t have anything.

His point is probably that the next people may be worse.
And if you keep killing everyone, no one will ever want to negotiate. And as we all know, negotiating is the only feasible end game.
