It's pretty pathetic really, having been told, at length, how mighty the US military machine is, only for them to realise that Iran might just have one or two cards of its own to play. I shouldn't be surprised really, US foreign policy has been based on empty threats and bluster pretty much forever.

I have read the theory that Iran is working though old weapons towards new ones.issiles with a 4000km range are likely to be at the newer end.
Is he going to do what he is doing in Ukraine and hanged tack just when the old tack. Pips be expected to have some effect?
(This is not to decent the old tack, but if you plan a 2-3 month operation, bailing out after 3 or 4 because of polling numbers is even worse).

The US and Israel have almost dismantled Islamic regimes defences in 3 weeks. They fire less than 10 missiles and drones now from the hundreds on day 1 and 2. Despite the Islamic regime boasting of thousands up thousands of weapons. Helicopters and A10 planes fly around the Persian gulf- these are slow speed aircraft. This means the virtual air superiority has been achieved.
All but a handful of the Islamic regimes leadership has been eliminated.

Yup.
If you ever needed proof that Donnie doesn’t believe his own bullshït about the polls, this potential latest U turn is it.
He realises that he can’t put boots on the ground because he can’t afford the butcher’s bill. He can’t use the US navy for the same reason. Too many votes lost.
Therefore he decides to walk away and leave other countries navy to suffer the loses, cleaning up his mess.
He probably also believes that the gas situation in the US can quickly recover from sky rocketing prices because they don’t get their oil via the straights.
He doesn’t realise that global prices will continue to be effected.
