China buys a small % of its oil from Iran and has several months of storage. They prepared for this a long time ago (naval blockade of the other strait: Malacca).

they can still get oil just not from Iran.

US intelligence is now saying the Chinese have been providing missiles to Iran and there are murmurings they could deliver the anti-ship missiles agreed prior to this war.

Not really the impact it may sounds they might have as having missiles does nothing if you can't launch them, and they Iranian navy is kind of out of Navy ships to fire them.

China has 400 bn investment in Iran and isn’t going to throw it away easily. The Iranians are all set up for a war of attrition. The Yanks won’t like paying more to fill their gas guzzlers and Trump will have to concede at some point.

The Iranians are also hinting, via the Houthis, that they could close the Red Sea shipping.

Houthis begged the US to stop bombing them the last time, they are all talk but no actions, as they know they won't like the consequences

That's why Trump has now "closed" it, also note it is closed for any tanker going to Iran any other destination is fine. So Trumps move makes Iran's threats useless

The U.S. has destroyed most of Iran’s navy. But not the one Tehran uses to control the Strait of Hormuz.

You mean Trūmp has told everybody the US has destroyed the Iranian navy ... and Trūmp always tells the truth and is 100% accurate in his achievements.

In fairness to Trump he did mention the little boats they are indeed not nice if you have an unarmed cargo ship but they are no match for the destroyers the US has there now. which is probably why they haven't even tried and rely on China complaining about it being unfair and such.

Difficult to tell. Those small fast nimble, manoeuvrable vessels could be good at avoiding missiles designed to hit stationary buildings or slower moving big battleships. They are also dirt cheap to produce in numbers, a fraction of the cost the US would be spending on armaments to try and counter them.

I claim no expertise, just that it does seem US is all geared up for and not thinking beyond traditional warfare and they've found themselves facing forces that are not playing the same game. Maybe that should read "it does seem US is all geared up for and not thinking <full stop>"

The US/and/or Nato have encountered similar before for example the somali pirates worked with the same idea not really a challenge because of radar and things like that.
What could be an challenge or at least unproven is the drone submarine's Iran showed in some of their clips, but best if my knowledge there has been no records of them being able to do anything, i might as well still be prototypes/steel hulls. (like we seen before from them)
