Seems like Khamenii has nothing to offer the population. Perhaps he remembers that the Shah making minor concessions sealed his fate.

He seems to offer the muder, oppression, torture and indiscriminate abuse.
Any regime that states protestors will be charge with the capital offence of being enemies of God has lost any right to govern.

I hope for the people of Iran that they are able to bring about regime change, but I sadly fear they alone will not manage it.
The consequences of external players getting involved present a series of worrying scenarios

I have just seen headlines suggesting UK government won't list the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp as a terrorist organisation

Given we treat Iran as a "terrorist" nation and have sanctions against the country & regime why would the IRGC not be proscribed?
i'm not saying it should or should not be proscribed, just puzzled at the seeming inconsistency, which has existed for some time

US government will slap 25% tariffs (US trade) with any country doing business with Iran.

Well that includes the UK which did over £400 million in trade last year, jumping 8% previous year.

What the hell, UK government Islamic sympathisers

You and your facts...

A period when Trump wasnt president. In his first term he suspended around 80% of trade and only allowed agri and humanitarian trade.

Now he's doing it to force Irans Islamic radical leadership to fall

It will if everyone sticks together and a little push here and there.

Hopefully it won't need outside help to topple the regime

Hoping it collapse in hours or days rather than weeks

Well, maybe a little bit of manipulation from Israel and the US. (Doesn't mean there isn't genuine grievance).

Unfortunately there have been previous large scale protests that seemed to be about to topple the regime, and yet the regime survived. I'm not optimistic about this time.

Watching C4 News recently they've had a few Iranian "experts" all Iranian but based outside Iran with titles of "reporter" or working for some ThinkTank. And they've all come across as campaigners rather than analysing events and situations. And the trouble is their contribution is easy to see as personal wishes and views rather than useful. One was saying how the public would welcome Crown Prince return and calling for his return, etc.

I'm in no position to assess the accuracy of their contributions but the way the come across is that they have strong personal agendas and stances.

Your assessment sounds fair. It seems to me that it is mostly Iranians outside Iran that support Pahlavi.

Incidentally, the Pahlavi hashtags in posts about the protests seem to have almost disappeared in the last day. I see many posts by Iranians talking about 12000 deaths in the last four days, very difficult to verify with the ongoing blackout.
