IMO he's very keen to Do Right Things ... once they've been sufficiently de-risked. France and a couple of others leading the way should be enough to calm his fears. We'll see ...
Looking like ... he isn't up to doing anything. He did briefly stick his neck out and talked to leaders of France and Germany but that seemed to overload his "do something " so put phone down and back on his safe familiar fence.

Is he properly representing the attitudes of the UK?

Given he seems to decide what his principles are on the basis of polls, one can only assume someone has shown him a poll about what pro-Israeli spokespeople might accuse him of if he dares to step out of line.

Thankyou for your additional information, and your kind, patient attempts to educate me. I have a further question:
Wasn't Mandatory Palestine an entity controlled by the British (or the UK, I suppose)? Is that an independent state, or more like a colony?
