There are dozens of religious books and at least 10 non religious books relating to Jewish people going back way before christ was alleged to be born.

Anyhow it's a mute point. hamas escalated the troubles on Oct 7. Israel decided enough is enough and began to wipe out hamas.

They will obliterate hamas if hamas break the ceasefire.

Hamas wasted billions in aid to create network of tunnels and arm themselves to start fighting.

Specifically between Israel and Palestine since 1967, so yes.
Religious wars are always fluid regarding territory as no borders contain a religion. Especially so historically in the Middle East.
