Why am I not hearing this on the BBC etc?

I wonder how the attempts by politicians of all colours to scapegoat the Chief Constable of West Midlands Police for overseeing a force doing its job on public protection with the Villa v Macabee match will go? I'm sure none would have criticised if the match had gone ahead with visiting supporters present had there been serious violence and they'd have taken the view that it was for the best to avoid being anti-Semitic. It's almost Trumpian.
Can’t believe this is still under debate. Someone is stoking it to keep it in the news.

The commons committee interrogation of the chief constable was incredible. All interrogating MPs declared some sort of friends of Israel link, shouldn't they have recused themselves? Is that kind of foreign interference acceptable?

Well quite.
But at the end of the day it’s a game of football.
I know, I know……….I don’t understand![]()
As I understood it, the decision had nothing to do with football but was about football "fans".
IIRC, the decision was also made based on information available at the time, not stuff that came out later. Best intentions and all that.
Also some team's fans having to watch one game on TV rather than in person vs the potential impact & damage to a community. I think there is a precautionary principle. Risks go beyond just the chance of something happening eg you get a phone call mid cooking and burn the eggs is higher probability but not massive consequences vs get distracted chainsawing timber outside and are in a wheelchair for the rest of your life. Decisions need to be made balancing likelihood against consequences. As I understood it, the decision had nothing to do with football but was about football "fans".

It was based on Maccabi Ultras having previous (most recently in Amsterdam) for causing trouble. They haven't been the only team this season to have their travelling support banned in Europe this season because of fan behaviour, but because they're from Israel it's anti Semitic...
Why are you still posting this nonsense? The reasons given by West Midlands Taliban police have been widely discredited, most notably by the Dutch police.

If you're going to talk about things you clearly know nothing about at least get your facts right.
