I have not!"Classic" implies that it is commonplace or prevalent.
I have not noticed this, but have not really done any research into how often it happens. If it is not just your personal prejudice could you let us know how often this happens?
I believe I can recall it happening a very small number of times, not in response to a point made but to a statement that someone has made that they come on here just to disagree with "you lot".
Well this is the thing though, nobody wants this to be an echo chamber.
I'd be more than happy to discuss anything, consider my position, perhaps change it. I have done in the past based on the views of others on these forums.
But then, even as I was typing this, you get nonsense as above from @jowwy. How are you meant to engage meaningfully with that?
It is the "many, many" times that you are implying people who differ from the majority on particular issues are told "please move away" that I am questioning.
It is your use of the "many, many", not even just one, lonely little many, that I disagree with. Now you're misreading me: I think I was pretty clear the 2nd time.
Apolgies if I was unclear; my intended meaning was that the sentiment seems to fit nicely with many many posts on here, and the attitudes often expressed (despite the regular pleas of "we would benefit from more varied views and opinions" which I'm beginning to think is actually a rather cunning in-joke ... )
@Rusty NailsNow you're misreading me: I think I was pretty clear the 2nd time.
@Rusty Nails
OK, I'll try once more (as I think you are being sincere :-x ): "fits nicely" is the key phrase in my statement. Not the same as "this is exactly what other NACA people have posted", just as an example.
Perhaps we should take turns to argue right-wing views. We have a right-of-sensible friend arriving for a few days next week. I can prod him for appropriate responses.
I genuinely wish we had more people on the site who come with different views and are willing to discuss the reasoning behind those views, as it more accurately reflects the population at large and makes the discussions more relevant.
I'm sure many readers of this forum agree, me included, but the reality is that the tone of many discussions on here alienates all but the shoutiest of contributors. There will be many readers from the main CC forum who would like to comment but find the response from other posters off-putting. And I'm talking about the snarkiness not just the f'ing and blinding. It's a situation that predates the latest Tourettes-like outbursts that we are currently enjoying. It must be how many members like it though, or they wouldn't participate.
Of course they like it, thats why they all voted for an unmoderated forum…..they want the ability to abuse any contributor that doesnt agree with or is unwilling to play their games. It was all set up for remoaners to come and vent about brexiters and call them racist thicko’s. But when they get it shoved back up their arses, they cry fowl, put people on ignore and then cry even more when membership dwindles…..
There was a vote? I thought Shaun just decided to split it off because the moderators were having their time taken up too much by people moaning. Like you are now.
Did you ever stop and think, that the reason people don't post much on here is because of posts like yours, which contribute nothing in general, beyond baseless abuse? Nobody vents about Brexit, just those that don't understand the benefits would like to be given some, but nobody ever can, hence the repetition of the request for the benefits.
Of course, everyone has their choice in the way they voted, and that is fine, a part of democracy, but "Everything will be grand in 40 years" is absolute bollocks. The UK economy is currently in ruins because of this, ironically enough immigration is higher so our borders haven't been reclaimed and inflation is through the roof. Brilliant. And people wonder why they get criticised for voting leave? Laughable.
You're getting mixed up, again!Post like mine were happening 10mths before i joined……and shaun didnt take part in the vote on this forum, the members did
you thick twat
You're getting mixed up, again!
"‘Twat’ is an old English word meaning ‘one who likes to share their thoughts’. In medieval villages to be regarded as a ‘twat’ was something positive. It was the twats who voiced their thoughts and were generous in allowing other people into their world of ideas and opinions."
