Already, before this election New York flight is well under way.

Almost certainly they won't be moving back anytime soon

Statewide Impact: NY lost 2 million residents over the decade ending 2023, with popular destinations like Florida, Texas, and North Carolina gaining from the outflow. This contributed to a $1 trillion wealth loss for the state during the pandemic, per economic analyses.

Not sure it is to be honest. He's a bit of a populist himself and there's a pretty high risk his policies will fail completely.

The silver lining is he's charismatic, young and shouty. It is a contrast to the washed out grey of the mainstream democrats.

Trump will make sure he fails by cutting funding. This is going to be tough for NY, they will take the brunt of the vindictive old mans reactions.

I don't think that will be politically damaging if that's the outcome, because there is a clear bogeyman and it is incredibly undemocratic.

The bigger problem is the "socialist" (which to an American means communist) angle. I just hope the Dems eventually fight fire with fire and start to pojnt out he has a crush on Putin and all things Russian. They need to be a hell of a lot less nice, as a party.

Let's watch how New Yorkers react in a year or two :okay:

Well according to you New York is now like London. So he'll be re-elected with a resounding majority for at least 2 more terms.
Not only that but there will be:
  • over 300,000 new jobs,
  • record international investment,
  • loads of new housing,
  • delivery of major infrastructure updates
  • the number of employers supporting living wages will increase.
  • Air quality will be the best it has ever been
  • Mamdani will be very popular with New Yorkers.
On the downside, he'll be a target for racist trolls like yourself.

Maybe also very relevant beyond the NY reesult
Democrats have racked up election wins across America – but they would do well not to misread the results
Zohran Mamdani’s victory in New York and gubernatorial wins in Virginia and New Jersey have given Democrats a night better than they dared hope for

America gave Donald Trump a bloody nose.

On the first big election night since Trump swept back into power, the results were better than Democrats could have dared hope.
...
The blue wave kept coming. California voters approved new congressional district boundaries as Democrats seek to fight back against Republican redistricting efforts ahead of next year’s battle for the House of Representatives.

Democrats retained three crucial seats on the Pennsylvania supreme court. In the Virginia state legislature, House Democrats flipped 13 seats for their biggest majority in nearly 40 years.

All words are made-up. Every single one of them.

Where do you imagine they come from, you (to use a completely made-up phrase constructed from similarly made-up words) nasty, vacuous, knuckle-headed little racist cunt?

Certain phrases and words are created in the case of transphobia and islamophobia were created make out it's wrong to question these ideologies.

I think it is right to question those ideologies.

Or did you mean to not question? Or did you mean to question whether it's wrong? Or don't you know? Or do you have fat little thumbs?
