It seems a few on here think it's an acceptable level of death, stabbings, rapes to have a party.

The question is what can government do. I believe there are around a million people attend Carnival.

No level of criminality (including stabbings and murders) is acceptable, but, is the level of crime at NHC any different to a "normal" day in London?

Why should any living in London have to put up with that level of criminality. It only takes the right person with enough backbone to bring about sweeping change

I enjoyed the carnival when I was young - a great melting pot of music, art, costume and (most importantly) food and drink. There were always a few slightly moody areas once night fell, but that’s similar to any large city. I bet it’s a lot safer now due to police surveillance, even with the bigger crowds. I’d be very surprised if most of the murders in past years we’re not gang-related. I know, I know, we don’t want any murders. But Reading Festival regularly has stabbings (at least two in the year my daughter went) and that’s frequented predominantly by middle-class kids. Maybe we should ban all outdoor activities?

There were over 100 arrests. Mostly for people smoking a joint.

They might have been holding a bit of cardboard in support of Palestine Action.
