nope..no chips at all, no blaming others...unlike remainers …

It’s pretty obvious you are indeed blaming others…

nothing to do with the french not turning up for work then????? i mean its the EU that stated passports needed stamping on entry, they could have just said during the negotation process that this wasnt required......but nope, they had to punish the uk for leaving some how and deter other countries doing the same

it was because the french didnt turn up for work that caused the queues, now they need more staff to clear the backlog, thats on the french, not us ffs

But if you aren’t blaming others, whose fault must it be? 🤔

they didnt expect extra people, they just wanted the correct people to turn up for work.......if french workers dont turn up for work, why do i need to pay extra????

It's almost like the French don't see it as a priority to deal with a country that has imposed barriers on itself from the rest of Europe and are focused on the free travel of EU citizens.

If only there had been some sort of clue that the French might not pour all of their resources into manning their ports to keep the British happy, and that sometimes there might be issues...

I know the old "well, it's obvious isn't it?" is an unpopular, nay, generally unacceptable response on this forum, but, in this instance, it was obvious that cross channel travel / trade would be a problem area after Brexit. Anyone with even one functioning brain cell could observe that the sheer volume of traffic (both freight and non-freight) would pose a problem, once the free movement of people and goods was removed.

We have typically travelled to/from Europe 4 - 6 times a year, via ferry or Tunnel, since our retirement, approximately 15 years ago. Our journeys were not at peak holiday times, indeed, we purposely avoided peak holiday times, also, for a couple of reasons, we typically travelled at "anti-social" times, when the ferry and/or tunnel was less busy, but, it was still a case of "well, it's obvious isn't it" that even then current traffic volumes could not be maintained if paperwork checking, passport checking/stamping, vehicle inspections (for prohibited goods), as would be required by ending free movement, were introduced. At present, not all of the checks etc have actually been introduced, it is only going to get worse.

So now the french are blaming an unexpected technical incident in the channel tunnel as the problem……..or is that brexits fault too???

i mean so far they have now said no staff turned up, now its a tunnel issue…..i mean who else they going to blame???

next it will be sturgeons fault cause she wants a 2nd indeyref, or trump told them to do it,

This is what the French said:

The French authorities have said the delays at Dover were partly caused by an ”unforeseeable incident” in the Channel Tunnel, which meant that French border police were unable to deploy at full capacity in Dover until more than an hour later than planned.

In a statement this afternoon, the prefet for the Haut-de-France region Georges-Francois Leclerc said it was not correct to say that the French had failed to mobilise sufficient border police for the predicted rush.

“The increase in traffic for this weekend was fully anticipated and a suitable deployment was prepared,” the statement said.

“Based on a close analysis of predicted traffic, the plan was to have all the police booths manned (at Dover) by 8:30am. However an unforeseeable technical incident in the tunnel meant that police had to push back their full deployment by an hour.

“It was not until 9:45am that the booths were fully operational.”

A pretty reasonable statement really.

So we have proof now and the french have taken full responsibility…..so no extra costs for brexiteers to pay, yet more doom mongering from remainers again.

how they love to look for the negatives, but can never provide evidence to prove anything.

So did the french border force turn up for work or not??? Simple question yes or no

That'll be a yes then.

I don’t know but AndyRM’s post ☝️ suggests they did but not at full strength.

Regardless of how many turned up, there will still be queues because the UK travellers must get their passport stamped when this previously wasn’t the case. This adds time and is what you won with your vote.

So just who exactly are you blaming?

You know the freight traffic has been getting backed up for months now due to the checks don't you, and that the increased delays were always, always going to happen when the holidays started?
Both the freight queues and the holiday queues are caused and exacerbated by Brexit.

I’ll give you someone to blame, but you wont accept this one either.

i blame the tory in fighting and given the people of the UK a referendum and after 6yrs of tory austerity, the UK people decided to fark them right up and vote leave.

So its the Tories fault, like it or lump it.
