Oh no!! Brexit not going quite as well as hoped

Maybe just mentioning it would be a start....or do you prefer the silent treatment ?
I think he should focus on policies that allow us to make the best of it, because that is all we can do now. Being seen to fight again against the actual decision is playing into Johnson’s hands.

Personally I’m happy to continue apportioning blame, but I have the luxury of not trying to get myself elected.

Policies...what are those again ? Fighting against anything...I doubt he's got a fight in him.
He's what most wanted isn't he? Someone electable...

What do you think his policies should be around Brexit?
Oh I don't know....maybe start by telling it how it is ? It's been a fecking sh1tshow so far....we're not rejoining anytime soon so what's his plans ?
His catchy three word slogan "make Brexit work" somehow doesn't cut it if you don't explain how.
I'm not mad on the catchy slogans either 🙄

I understand your frustration but you still haven’t said what you do want him to say or what his plans should be.

If it’s easier, can you say what you would want Starmer’s successor to do?

What do I want him to say in general or just about Brexit ?
For the first part what was so bad about the Corbyn manifesto/policy's ?
As for Brexit...maybe I'd have some respect if he called it out for the disaster it's becoming and told us his plan A,B or C ? Maybe say I'll try and get closer links with the EU,freedom of movement ?
He's fecking bland,I honestly don't know where he stands on most things I'm interested in,except maybe alienating the left of the party ?
Edited to add... He's going to have to get a move on as,my patience is short and I'm hard to please !

The time for a manifesto is when there is an election. If Starmer lays out his manifesto now, it just gives the tories the opportunity to steal the best bits and undermine it. Really at this point the best tactic is to leave Johnson in his hole to keep digging.

Some people are just so easily pleased...personally speaking I like to know what I'm meant to be supporting.

Policies?
Build the cross Pennine rail link, and other links from Brum northwards - not necessarily for high speed, rather useful for freight in a greener world - this was one of the Tory plans that won the North over and was then ditched.
Talk to Europeans without being a outright self-publicist pillock. This would be much easier for anyone except Boris.
Subsidise a transition to greener energy and industry.

@Adam4868 it was you that started this exchange when you complained that Starmer hadn’t made any mention of the disaster that is Brexit, so that was my focus here.

I’m not going to keep hammering away at this, but I do recall a distinct lack of clarity from Corbyn about the subject before, during and after the vote.

In both cases it is because it is toxic to a large number of previously reliable Labour voters.

"Security, Prosperity and Respect are also the values that should inform Britain’s role in the world. I am determined that Britain should profit from our strong global relationships. That means not just getting Brexit done but making Brexit work.

When I spoke at the CBI last November, I described how we would approach this. Making Brexit work is painstaking work, and slogans won’t cut it. My goals will be to repair the alliances that this government has damaged while also ensuring that our borders remain safe and secure." Kier Starmer, Tue 4 Jan. https://labour.org.uk/press/keir-st...out-labours-contract-with-the-british-people/

But I suspect you already knew that and his CBI speech that explains how. https://labour.org.uk/press/keir-starmers-speech-to-the-cbi-annual-conference/

Take your point...push come to shove I might be persuaded.
As a Corbyn supporter after the shite of the last election it still smarts a bit, A fecking lot !
He came in promising to unite the party, instead he seems to be trying to purge any left leaning members.Out of his 10 pledges he won the leadership campaign on how many has he broke ?
He instills zero confidence in me and the more I see and hear the more bland it becomes.

He does appear to be good at one thing... ie catching Covid, I see he has tested positive, again
