Genuine question: do you not see any difference in likely outcomes from a Johnson and a Starmer led government?
Genuine question what is Labour offering other than being a alternative ?

I didn't put him there. In fact some at the last election were willing to lend there votes to anyone as long as Brexit went there way ?
The huge problem with our first past the post system and a virtual duopoly is that very often a vote not for Labour has the same effect as a vote for the Tories in terms of forming a government.

Sadly, in some cases, the least worst option is the best in general elections if it is important to you not to have a particular government.

Take your point...push come to shove I might be persuaded.
As a Corbyn supporter after the shite of the last election it still smarts a bit, A fecking lot !
He came in promising to unite the party, instead he seems to be trying to purge any left leaning members.Out of his 10 pledges he won the leadership campaign on how many has he broke ?
He instills zero confidence in me and the more I see and hear the more bland it becomes.

Lol....tell me what I'm voting for and I'll consider it ?
I mean is there any point if nothing changes.

Do you think that a Starmer government will not be any better at basic governance than Johnson - leaving aside policy?

Things like being able to manage his own MPs so that he can retain public health options? Not "spaffing" £££ of taxpayer money on £850 a roll wallpaper? Billions wasted on ill conceived projects or worse, given to cronies? "Levelling up" funds used to tarmac roads on the property of Tory Lords?

I am past worrying about policy. I think some basic ability to govern and earn some level of public trust would be rather jolly. This government needs to be gone - it is the only way to sideline the madness of the ERG and other fringe Tory backbench lobby groups who are preventing decent governance because they are - frankly - lunatics.

Your past worrying about policy....how nice ? Maybe there's plenty who aren't !
I don't think Johnson will be PM at the next election anyway.
Most of this is hypothetical to be fair but do I want to go back to anything resembling the Blair years....do I feck !
Please don't give me that sh1te that its your only choice if you don't want the Tories....I still remember the last election if you don't.

Srsly tho Bolders (assuming you don't feel the same as @mudsticks does about the appellation*) what's with this 'It's not how I talk in the pub' complaint about posts? I do the pub metaphor thing about the forum myself at times, but that's all it is. Why on earth should posts on a forum be like how people speak to their mates in the boozer, and how would that be possible, even if it were desirable? Is it a demand you carry into all situations and across all forms?

You appear to misunderstand me. I did not say anything about the language used when talking to my acquaintances in the pub, what I said was that your phraseology and use of words did not fit with a typical conversation in my local pub. That was not meant in any way as a criticism, merely, an observation that most of my acquaintances do not use such terminology.

I have been called a lot worse than "Bolders" so, feel free.

The last election has gone. Time to move on.
He came in promising to unite the party, instead he seems to be trying to purge any left leaning members.
Those are not different: purging the most divisive members is one oft-used way to end up with a united party. Boris united his party by purging the likes of Grieve and Clarke but he could call an election and set selection requirements to do it, which is a tool Starmer does not have.

Out of his 10 pledges he won the leadership campaign on how many has he broke ?

What 10 pledges? And this is what will make many people vote Labour, Rayner playing Prescott to Starmer's slick lawyer:

Am I meant to admire Johnson for this ?

Seeing as though this is the Brexit thread, probally my fault for going off on one ?
What the feck has Starmer actually said about it....I'd hazard a guess at feck all.To be fair to him though he hasn't a lot to say about anything.
