I know minis were small.
Lots of my friends had them.
But that must be photoshopped.

Iceland, 1993, my hire car the small white blob on the left. Definitely not photoshopped, if only due to my dodgy copy of photoshop disappearing after a hard drive failure last week.
Mk1 Mini was noticeably smaller than a Mk2 Micra.

I guess the jury's still out on the UK version of SNL, but this is quite nicely done, and is nicely UK. Generally the comments I've been seeing are that people have been surprised it not only not shit, but Quite Good in parts.
