Well, fuck me. Zuckerberg, aka Meta, has instantaneously suspended all my FB activity for some unspecified infraction, asked me to 'appeal' against the suspension with a selfie (what?), and if that fails, there is no appeal, and that's that. 18 years of photos, about 900 FB friends, and 5800 followers on he French Page from seven years of work on it. Oh joy, but WTF?

Not as bad as that but they suddenly started labelling certain posts as spam, and warning the posters about "posting just to get likes". These were posts to the AUK group regarding AUK events.

Be flattered. He wants a pic of this guy with a huge female French following. He is jealous.

Not really banter but Kirsty Allsop telling Michael Rosen, who is like a thousand years old and has probably paid millions in income tax, that he shouldn't have a free bus pass made me laugh.

The more I read about this the more Allsopp appears totally deranged.
If you can apply for free travel then why not take it?
What is the morality of using an ISA to benefit from tax free savings you do not need?
I’ll bet my house that Allsopp has a full ISA account.
Surely your income is irrelevant in these situations?

She is a bit bonkers.

I watched one of her craft shows where she was telling people how to make placemats out of old corks and glue.

"Just chop some up from your most recent dinner party"

Aye, very good.

The sexual tension between her and Phil on their property programmes is a triumph of editing though.

She also thinks young people could buy houses if they stopped buying coffees. I mean, I know coffee has got pricey but that’s a bit of a stretch.

I thought that too until one of my grand daughters did an analysis of her spending as she didn't know why she had so little money left at the end of the month. The startling conclusion - £630/month at Starbucks. I mean, Starbucks FFS!

That's over twice what I was paying on my mortgage.

That’s about 150 coffees a month!

It might not only be on coffee but, and?

I’m amazed anyone can spend that in Starbucks (I’m amazed anyone who likes coffee would go to Starbucks too!). Surely you would be aware of spending £20 a day anywhere though and realise it’s a big expenditure?

Well, she was amazed too, but there you go.
(I did add the last sentence in my OP on purpose ;) )

Edit:- I suspect that contactless tap and go means people have completely lost all sense of how much they are spending on what.

Seeing pictures of my home town and other towns in the area on the news and social media this morning, I’ve lived in the area all my life and this is the worst I’ve seen it. We seem to have escaped the worst of it here luckily.

I don't mind Kirstie Allsop mostly but she has a lot of luxury beliefs. She lives in a little bubble of poshness with not much of an idea about ordinary people's lives. It's true that young people maybe aren't as willing to sacrifice as much as we were to get on the property ladder but I can understand that because it was feasible for people my age to scrimp and save for a while to get a deposit. Depending on where you live now you're looking at having to save for years and years and need 2 incomes.

I went off her mate Phil when I saw a photo of him with a deer he'd shot. Very tragic how his parents died though.

Took the dogs last night and the lane I go up with them in daylight was flooded at lunchtime which tends to happen several times a year. Last night it had road closed sign and the entrance had been taped by the fire service but someone had ripped it down. I took a quick look to see how bad the flooding was and noticed a car stuck in the water with no lights. It’s still there this morning, right in the middle of a now dry lane and other cars can just about squeeze around it through a passing place.

Not sure if the road closed signs went up because of the car but it seems unlikely as they’ve been taken down again now so it looked oks like the driver may have broken the tape and ignored the sign then got their chavved up BMW stuck in the flood which would be a shame.
