It had cleared here by about midnight, but I couldn't see any action at all then, not even a faint glow.

Yeah, I think there were a few hours were it dropped off but things possibly improved again in the early hours. Looks like there's a possibility tonight too but the weather looks worse.

We've basically got two days of wind and heavy rain here.

You must have been unlucky last night, I've seen several photos from Dartmoor taken just after midnight.

Yeah, it was the cloud over Exeter that prevented earlier sighting. It might have been nearer 00h30 when I looked out last, when I could see stars but no aurora action, but there's always a light pollution glow from Exeter from my house.

Having been spell-bound by the most incredible view of Valhalla in the sky, still images don't really capture the phenomenon for me.

Even though I'll still probably end up soaked, I'm quite glad I'll be riding home at 5pm rather than 1pm, as I don't fancy 53mph headwind gusts.

Did you see it last night? Seems to have been very localised. Andy R in Exeter couldn't see it either.

I didn't look. Too many trees and tall houses.
