The coffee shop there is excellent. Or it's about 45 mins walk thought the woods to Cotehepe Quay. In summer the ferry comes becl the other way also. There's another national trust coffee shop at Cotehele.Not this one. 'Banter' is leaves quite a wide berth.
BTW, it was a most excellent day at Calstock, even if I didn't take a diversion for a coffee. The people who are in Ferry Farm are friends of my Tavistock friends, so might call in there for coffee next time. I was in Calstock for just a couple of hours yesterday, but with a decent stroll around, reckon 4 hours would be nice on a good day.

Another option is up into the Danescombe woods, and try to find remnants of the incline railway. Or various other old mine buildings.
For a placewith not a lot going on there is quite a lot to explore.
I should visit at some point.
