You can't, I never said you could! Are my posts on this really confusing?

No. Your posts are not confusing.
Go back to my original post. I said
I must confess that I’ve never understood how we know how many people come in illegally.
Surely some get past the net and are unaccounted for?
We are in agreement. Those under the radar cannot be counted.
Yet people quote numbers with certainty. 🤔

If the numbers were small why is it costing > £7,000,000,000 per year just to house them?
It doesn't cost £7bn. It costs £1.29bn annually, figures from the NAO. That would be much smaller if we were still in the Dublin Agreement. Small boats weren't an issue until your hero, the traitors traitor, Farage, campaigned to haul us out of the EU.

Him, and his supporters, are getting furious about a problem that he, and they, created.

Yeah but that wasn't my point.
If someone makes it on shore undetected then they can't be counted. Until they try to enter the system. Not everyone is coming for benefits.

Edit:- As you pretty much said upthread.

It is rather difficult to not be part of the "system" for many years, not impossible, but, inconvenient. Opening a bank account, needs Id, for example. It is possible to live without a bank account of course, but, not very convenient.

Not really, a significant number will probably end up in the illegal economy under modern slavery conditions.

What is the optimum level of net migration to the UK?
How have you arrived at any figure you may have in mind, other than “stands to reason”.

Not sure what the optimum level is but back in the 90's I think the level was around 100k pa and economic growth did not seem to suffer. Fairly clear to me that it is currently too high. There is also the question of who we let in as well as how many.

Same question to you...

As has been pointed out before there is no actual data/statistics to prove this, it is speculation and anecdotal.

I can quite simply say nearly all Reform voters used to be Conservative voters. Neither of us can prove it.

Probably, but I'd love to know where they all came from in areas that were traditional safe seats for Labour such as the North East.

You agreed with me when I said that, like the Tories, the Lib Dems best chance is to be a partner in coalition. You literally said "I'm glad we agree" when I made that comment.

About the Lib Dems being a spent force having wiped themselves out.

Fair enough, we are all entitled to our opinion.

Simple question though, what material benefit to the UK will a lower net migration figure bring? How would it improve our economy for example?

Less costs related those that are net beneficiaries of the state, more housing availability. To name but a couple. What's the great attraction of large net immigration numbers?
