You have to have some token people of colour to prove you're not racist...

Some of my best friends are people of colour...

The problem is that what people want, and wants actually good for them are two different things.
I just don’t see how a party of the worst rejects from the Tories can possibly succeed at governing.

The gammons do say they can’t be any worse than team Starmer. I doubt they are right but you never know.

@C R - re Matt Goodwin, it seems that there might be some investigation due:

So is there any possibility that they are two different people?

I suspect that, 'Goodwin' being a not-uncommon name, the Manchester Neil Goodwin who is being cited in some places as his father, is no relation. I imagine that Matt Goodwin will be asked to confirm very soon, and that it will indeed be just an AI fail of making 5 out of 2+2.

GB News presenter unveiled as Reform by-election candidate

Liberal Democrat Cabinet Office spokesperson Lisa Smart said: "Goodwin has made a career out of talking our country down - he is a professional wind-up merchant, more interested in chasing headlines than putting an end to the cost of living crisis facing families."

Green Party leader Zack Polanski said: "It tells you everything you need to know that Reform are parachuting in a rent-an-extremist... Manchester will show him the door."

doesn't matter if it is "true" or not, if the seeds have been sown,

It's interesting, as I can't work out who the competing 'narratives' benefit – Goodwin, or his detractors. I think the story Goodwin wants to sell is a humble upbringing, followed by poor boy made good, with links to Manchester.
