Well, the Farage £5mn bung isn't going away quite yet.

https://observer.co.uk/news/politic...face-byelection-over-crypto-kings-5m-donation

A recall and by-election would be a good excuse for the press to (re)explore all the other scandals, mostly having let them all go by the wayside so far.
I've not seen any polls regarding Fárage's chances of getting re-elected were there s recall. Pre the £5m he was still predicted to win https://voteclimate.uk/constituencies/clacton despite not paying any attention to the constituency and treating them as a vehicle to Westminster. But even that's "From recent polls" so I've no idea about confidence levels.

And were there a recall and new vote he make out he's the victim, how the state wants to stop him acting for them, etc,

Yep, it would certainly be an interesting contest, with all the focus on just the one constituency and Farage. A good opportunity for some digging (and for Chris Mason to get all breathless about the excitement of the Farage circus).

“And I would have got away with it too if it wasn’t for you pesky kids hackers”

Sounds like a bank robber complaining he only got found out because of the dashcam on a passing car.

It's promising that this one is finding its way into places like The Times. If the parliamentary standards committee rules against Farage this week, it would help keep the momentum up. I would suspect that this is the tip of the iceberg too, as far as dodgy funding is concerned.

I’m hoping he’s going to find that as his party becomes a genuine threat to run the country he / they will come under the level of scrutiny that has been missing so far.

What, like the US press did to Trump, even after his first presidency? You know, where they pounced on every stumble by Biden, but praised Trump's 'freewheeling style'? That kinda scrutiny?

I would hope that the Tory press would fill their boots. I have been scrolling through the headlines and the news sources. It's there but not as vociferous as I would like. The Independent says as a sub headline 'not fit for Number 10'.
So this is Maga lite: his supporters probably don't care and there should be a spotlight on the source of funding - a crypto currency tycoon. Now, why would a crypto currency tycoon want to fund a right wing party i wonder? These tech billionaires and currupto currency barons are a powerful and insidious bunch of individuals where historically, some of the super rich had morals and philanthropic ideas.
