Even those (slightly) above NMW often get paid overtime, most private sector care staff, for example. Plus of course NHS Nursing staff get paid overtime.

Quite a proportion of the working population there.

There's a good number of Greens who also got elected in May but who are not councillors today. Probably in percentage terms, it's higher.

My daughters work in a pub under a zero hours contract (student job). There's no overtime, and the only day that there's any kind of extra pay is Christmas day. The other workers that are full time are under the same conditions. From what my daughters say of their friends in other pub chains or retail the situation is the same. I've heard that among supermarkets only Lidl and Aldi pay overtime.

Regarding care jobs, the situation is mixed. I know people who get overtime and people who work under similar conditions to zero hours contracts.
