Question: Now that Piddington has outed itself as a little England racist shithole, do you think this will impact house sales there? Yes of course there are racists that would flock to it, but most people aren't racist and just want a bit of peace and quiet.
This is going to bite them on the arse big time imo. There's nothing these type of people care about more than house prices (other than brown people, natch).

To play Devil’s Advocate, I suspect a large asylum processing facility nearby will have a bigger impact on house prices (which may well be the biggest reason behind their objections). However, that makes highlighting that there’s a large asylum processing facility proposed nearby a bit of a silly thing to do.

Crisis at Reform UK. They launched an app to track small boat arrivals, and there have only been three in a week, despite the benign weather. People using the app are complaining. "What are we going to complain about??"

I don't think it is uncommon for Parish Council seats to be filled without contest. Many of these councils have unfilled seats. I am not sure there's a lot of profit to be made as chairman of a Parish Council.

Anyone entering Parish Council seat on the premise of making profit...
1. Is going to be disappointed*.
2. Should be rejected immediately.

*Probably. I know of one councillor who made a lot of money by circumventing planning while in charge, so it can be done.
