Go and look on X.

Compare the numbers of police, their attire when policing islam marches/gatherings compared to the last few days

As ever, you made the assertion it's up to you to stand it up. And not by quoting some bollox from X.

They stopped spending money on ads on Twitter for a while, they weren't asking for censorship of negative comments.

So, why did they withdraw their advertising on Twitter? Presumablty it was because they did not want to be associated with what was being posted on twitter?

Removing adverts because you do not like what is being posted there is a form of economic censorship. We can all do that - for example stop shopping at X because they support / oppose Israel's actions is a form of economic censorship

So, it appears you are not prepared to say that rioting is wrong.

You seems to be wanting to put some form of spin on it to justify rioting when its a cause you agree with, or perhaps some riots are ok because they are smaller than others.

A single property damaged, a single police officer hurt etc is wrong.

As for comparing scales of disorder. Are you unable to read? The whole point of my posts is that I am not comparing the scale of any disorder, because irrespective of the scale of the riots, they are wrong.

Why do you need to get personal in every thread.

I'm happy to condemn rioting whoever does it.

What I'm asking you is to explain when/how BLM supporters actually rioted in the UK.

Peaceful demonstrations, even if hangers on spray paint on Churchill's statue, isn't a riot.

It's not the same as asking for negative comments to be censored. It's not wanting your adverts to appear alongside inappropriate ones. HTH.

To get back to the point lets see you actually condemn the rioting in 2020 by BLM and the rioting this past week?

Lets see if you can actually condemn it as you claim without any reservations, exclusions etc. Its not hard to say all rioting is wrong including that in 2020 and 2024.

In my book asking if I can read is personal and offensive. You're a lawyer; do you use that sort of language professionally?

I absolutely condemn riots in the last week following the Southport murders.

I'm asking you for an example of a BLM riot.

I'm not going to condemn something that didn't happen.

I am not going to be drawn into our rioters weren't as bad as their rioters argument. That completely misses the point that all rioting is wrong, irrespective of whether the cause is one you support or oppose

In the same way that slapping someone on the cheek and stabbing someone to death are equally illegal.

Companies do whatever makes them money. Withdrew X advertising because they thought it would play well with their customers. Went back when they realised customers didn't much care. Same with bands who took their music off Spotify for a while. Same with companies who have the Pride month logo all over social media but leave it off their Middle Eastern sites.

There's very little morality involved. It's virtue signalling to appeal to customers. They will do whatever makes them money.

I’ll tell you what is good to see: the large numbers of local people who turn out to clean up and repair their community after the racist thugs have gone back to where they came from.

These are the real everday folk, workers and tax payers, who are happy to coexist with others and take pride in their town. The thugs will never defeat that, no matter how far they roam to cause damage.

They included friends in Sunderland on Saturday morning. They would much rather the destructive b st rds had stayed at home, or wrecked their own community facilities and property.

@spen666 having done my own research I can see that while BLM protests were overwhelmingly peaceful a couple spilled over into Whitehall/Downing Street where bottles/bricks etc were thrown and buildings, including the Cenotaph, vandalised.

Which of course I condemn.

The Police responded proprtionally and people were arrested and charged.

You prove my point - you try to down play the BLM rioters and their actions whilst condemning it
You of course do not do the same for the recent riots, where again it is a minority of those there who committed acts of violence and also at only some of the protests were there violence
All of that is irrelevant every act of violence whoever by and for whatever reason it was carried out in these protests is wrong
