I have just encountered the term "acoustic bicycle". It has made me almost apoplectic.

Will the water companies be applying an acoustic pressure washer ban soon? Do I walk up the acoustic escalator to bed each night? No, because that would be really really unnecessarily stupid.

I saw that this morning, acoustic vs electric bike. Seems to be some marketing guff from Ribble, which road.cc regurgitated without question. Not much mercy about it in the comments in there, but I fear it is stupid enough to catch on.

The opposite of analogue is digital so, yep, that's as rage inducing as acoustic.

This is all another example of the bike industry marketing to an imagined group of people who they would like to buy their products, rather than the group of people who might want to buy their products but who they've taken for granted, pis$ed off and priced out for a decade.
