Seemingly trivial things that elicit an emotional response of some kind

Trivial but ... endless "Review of 2025" TV, Radio & Podcast episodes. I know what happened in 2025. I want to know what's happening now. World event continue despite Christmas. I suspect "Review of 2025" are convenient for broadcasters as they can be pre-recorded several weeks in advance (maybe with last minute update).

We had the reverse emotions here. It's been a pretty shitty year health wise in this household so 2025 was considered to be a bad year.
Then we went through the photos and saw all the good things that had happened in 2025. 🎶 It was a very good year 🎶.

Today’s emotion is mostly perplexing.
I want for nothing so I am a nightmare to buy for at Christmas so my wife made up a large personal hamper of (unhealthy) food and drink.
So far so good.
She is now saying that I am eating and drinking unhealthily.

My neighbours are all in a rage about some road tweaks that are being planned. They are clear in their design. They prioritise pedestrians, then cyclists, then cargo, then taxis, then private cars in that order. I'm enjoying their rage and I'm enjoying the proposals. They probably didn't need me to write in support of the plans.

You missed "cyclists don't pay any tax", which seems to be the favourite cry in this area 😂

I am still waiting for my refund of the Income Tax, VAT, Fuel Duty, Alcohol Duty, etc I have paid over the years. 😂

Incidentally, this is series two. Series one was all about losing a single on street car parking space to lime bike parking. Apparently, that promotes anti-social behaviour as well as the loss of a valuable parking space. Comically, the space has not yet been added to any of the apps, so it is now empty adding insult to injury for the poor drivers.

We need the "Sell your car thread", but that would only depress me, and I'm currently trivially cheered up.

Are the road plans going to destroy any family owned businesses, such as newsagents?

Most active travel initiatives destroy at least one person's life in that way, because cyclists don't smoke or read the Daily Mail.
