Regular AND Goofy
Nope, but I've kept 3 d.d.d.d.d.d.d.d.d dial phones, just in case.
I wish local pharmacies could offer the same (mine doesn't - I asked). I'd be interested in the actual costs/advantages (if any) of recycling a messy mixture of plastic and metal, or whether it's more of a marketing gimmick (given that it's Boots-specific).
I think it would be better if they minimised materials in the first place.
Superdrug in the Guildhall has a collection postbox by the pharmacy counter.
OK, thanks. I still suspect it would be greener to incinerate if the released energy is used efficiently. All too often recycling programmes seem to be invented in order to avoid changing established practice, I fear. (Carbon capture falls under the same category.)
The old chestnut of insurance renewal.
The old chestnut of insurance renewal. I got a quote for this year's home and contents insurance and decided not to be lazy for once as it felt ridiculously high (I think I forgot to check last year as it hasn't increased massively). I paid the Meerkats a visit and got numerous like-for-like quotes at around 60% of what Admiral were offering me for my renewal. I then went back to cancel, which basically forces you to get a new quote from them, and when I put in the price I was getting they knock £50 off their quote. Not sure if they thought I was bluffing with the price I gave them but their new price was still around £400 higher than my new provider so it's not just a bit of loose change. Admiral dealt with my claim pretty well when we got flooded a couple of years ago and they're a local company so I would have accepted a small amount over but their quote was ludicrous.

Ironically Admiral used to own Confused.com and Compare.com.
Take solace in that they weren't giving you too much loyalty and you simply returned the favour.
As I said to my Dad's insurance company "If you could have reduced the premium then you should have done that in the first place".
Sorry to hear that, Brian.
Warts. And the fact that still the only treatment is still burning them off for weeks with salicylic acid. Haven't had one for years, then...
