I've only looked on it when forums have posted links.

Reminds me of how I only go to The Grauniad these days when following a link.* They made a stir last month when announcing their departure from X. Not all the farewells were fond.

Many of the flouncers have flounced to rival site Bluesky, which has the air of Robespierre’s Committee Of Public Safety about it: while it sounds nice, it will probably end in suspicion and terror. This mini-exodus is, as usual, a signal of status. The low-status lower orders are angry, and vulgar Musk lets them express this anger. Hence the constant pleas for less polarisation, more light and less heat, coming from the very elites who created these febrile conditions in the first place. It’s like throwing a match into a petrol tank and being appalled by it having the sheer temerity, the appalling bad manners, to blow up in your face.

Taken by surprise by the Trump win, and the discovery that their political and social map bears no relation to the actual territory, these people’s solution is to run into a cupboard and stick their fingers in their ears.

It must be a new and scary experience for The Guardian’s staff to be faced with a big institution that does not automatically share its banal, state-sanctioned “values” and approved opinions, to be confronted on a regular basis with ideas that they detest. To them... I say: welcome to my world. I’ve a feeling you might have to get used to it, wherever you run.

What true colours? Pointing out that whenever a new platform emerges, such people as the Minor Attracted Persons community will take the opportunity to start accounts which reflect their interests? Same happened on Twitter and Mastodon. Depending on the direction given to moderators, such accounts continue until the platform decides to do something about it.
It will probably be sooner rather than later with Bluesky because they have the money to put into moderating.

It's pathetic that you follow me round the forum looking for excuses to bring your personal animosity into other threads.

I only joined here because I had a message that some facts needed adding to the gender thread. I'd hoped that some facts would straighten things out, but I wasn't prepared for a character so spiteful as you.

I apparently don't have many breaths left, so I guess you won't have to wait too long before you can be spewing bile unchallenged.

There will be too many accounts to deal with at first then moderators get on top of it. Pointing this out isn't vile. Facebook was the same.

You seem to be the reluctant hero of your own story, summoned by others (we only have your word for that) and 'only joined here' to 'add some facts' and put me straight on gender.

The European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) has announced that it will stop publishing content on Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, from January 20th, 2025, when Donald Trump will officially become the 47th president of the United States.
