Fair point, but, perhaps best addressed to the Rulers/Leaders/Governments of the "horrible places". Not exclusively of course, we in the West have done our bit, in some instances.

Its not the West total responsibility to make everywhere better. Nations should do it themselves. Many parts of Africa are actually grateful for USAID being stopped. It has made many dependent, reliant without striving for self.
The same happens in the west with ballooning social welfare budgets. It creates a nation of needy, dependent, with little self worth people.
