All shittys are shyte.

London seems fairly well regarded. York, Edinburgh, Oxford, Cambridge, Bristol, Inverness. Just a list of nice cities off the top of my head.

I'll grant you this doesn't include most of the Midlands and the north west.

York is very much Jekyll Hyde city. Pretty to look at during the day. Turns into a complete shoot hole at night people fighting including women in the streets, puke everywhere, total dump. You would not to walk around in the evenings

Ha, too quick for me to quip.

Though judging by Facebook, Exeter was at it's finest in the 1960s, with a dual carriageway running through the Hight Street, and postwar town planning dominating the city. It's just a pile of poo now, apparently.

Urban areas don't seem to be any worse than when I was young and my dear late lamented mother warned me against a certain street where teddy-boys congregated - apparently oblivious to the fact that two of her cousins had the quiffs, wore the drapes and shoe-string ties.

Ah, but you obviously don't frequent Nostalgia Alley, where the cherry trees are always in bloom and no-one ever slips and twists an ankle on squelchy blossom on the pavement, where you can leave your front door open and that scary man from the public information films doesn't come in and snatch you, and all the traffic pollution magically is neutralised by the smell of coffee roasting in Carwardines.
