We are literally being invaded, then being forced to pay for thousands of illegal migrants.

Using our military would be the most obvious action to capture and return

Specific daily totals for April 2025 are not fully detailed in the provided sources, but provisional figures are updated daily on the Home Office’s “Migrants detected crossing the English Channel in small boats” page. For context, on April 8, 2025, a post on X reported 428 migrants arriving in 8 boats, though this is not official Home Office data and should be treated as unverified.Official reports indicate 6,743 migrants arrived in 122 boats from January 1 to April 4, 2025, a 25% increase compared to the same period in 2024.Historical Trends:blush:n 2024, 36,816 people were detected arriving by small boats, with 695 boats recorded, averaging 53 people per boat. This was a 25% increase from 2023’s 29,437 arrivals.Daily highs in prior years include August 22, 2022, with 1,295 arrivals, and November 11, 2021, with 1,185 intercepted.Arrivals fluctuate due to weather, with calmer summer months typically seeing higher numbers.

That is an invasion of illegal immigrants via boats

Hardly anything is being done to stop these young men

Welcome yourself into the new modern crisis
Two or three friends of mine have made trips to Calais with bedding, clothing and supplies for the migrants in camps there. It all helps to ease the pretty horrible conditions there.

I had some acquaintances who would pack up a van and do the same from time to time. I think a fair amount of discarded camping equipment from music festivals went that way. It doesn't seem like much of a solution but it's something I guess.

We are literally being invaded, then being forced to pay for thousands of illegal migrants.
1) If something is "literal" it means it is actually happening. it isn't.
2) If you make all access to the country illegal then you can only have illegal migrants.

No-one is forcing "us" to pay anything. The elected government has decided they would rather keep people in poor conditions and pay for their housing and food instead of processing the paperwork. The government could save money in one fell swoop by granting asylum to all (or the majority of) current asylum seekers, offering re-training and certification to those who need it. They could implement a system whereby asylum seekers are given an NI number and encouraged to get jobs while their asylum status is being processed.

Any of these options would be simple to implement and create a massive boost to the economy as well as a huge cost saving in housing and food. Unfortunately Starmer seems to be convinced that he needs to be a cross between Farage or Badenoch.

Our politicians have seemingly become obsessed with ensuring re-election rather than running the country well so that they get re-elected.

Using our military would be the most obvious action to capture and return
Only to a farking xenophobic moron.

There would be no savings, just hundreds of thousands more coming going straight onto benefits

It's costing from last year's figures of £8 million per day to house them in hotels across the country, excluding other costs, benefits, phones, clothing. If that figure isn't big enough for you nearly £3 bn last year alone.

So yes we are all paying for something we don't need or want .

Then you've got the million immigrants coming over on spurious visas applications claiming asylum and going on benefits

It's only going to get worse, GDP per capita will keep going down, until we are all poor.

Poverty exists because it's government wastes so much money and doesn't use the tax wisely

Encouraging the nations less well off with education and apprenticeships, work schemes would go much further than spending it on hotel accommodation for illegal immigrants

But.. every report I watch or read insists that every boat is filled with qualified Engineers, Nurses, Doctors, Teachers, why would they need benefits?
