I think it was 1999, when I was age 52, I was barred from my local pub, for engaging in fisticuffs with a fellow drinker (a vague acquaintance, who was a supply teacher).

It was a discussion about the HongKong Chinese who were (allegedly) about to invade our shores when we handed HongKong back to the Chinese, I expressed the view that I would rather have a hard working Chinese as a neighbour than an idle Brit. My drinking companion took exception to this, and threw a punch, which missed, mine didn't. It is the one and only time I have been barred from a pub, in my 77 years 😂

I do know a few "indigenous lazy feckers" (one of them is Son No2), but, surprised to see such sentiments on here and not from "the usual suspects".

As I said a few days ago, I did used to vote Tory! I think denying these people exist in fairly substantial numbers would be foolish although that's a long way from lumping everyone who claims benefits into that category. My wife works in the care sector and regularly used to struggle to get people to work overtime to cover sickness etc. because it would affect their benefits (that's a major flaw in the system though to be fair, it should never be financially not worth your while to work).

True, there are too many Brits who fall into that category but we can't tell them to go away, other solutions are needed.

I suppose we could have endless arguments about who is most in need but regardless of whether you think it's a sh1t saying, a lot of the electorate sign up to that.

It's good that quite a few people are aligned with the general Tory principles even if they're not keen on the current team.
