(Without questioning or analysing the figures) to what extent is it caused by UK tax policy. Maybe just that the only people who can emigrate these days are (multi-)millionaires (EU, etc. now well closed off to regular people).

Personally, were EU option open to us I'd be leaving as UK really is going downhill fast, more plummeting than going. But mustn't speak out too loudly as I might be proscribed as a terrorist organisation (bye-bye Freedom of Speech).

From what I have read, tax is the main driver if not the only one. In particular the IHT changes which bearing global assets into the scope of UK tax. Several departees/soon to behave mentioned this, as have advisors to those people.

Good to see you quoting from a source that is entirely neutral and has no vested interest at all. I know that probity is very important to you.

Is it? Or is a lot of that wealth already living in the Cayman Islands?

I'll ask you again - show some counter evidence.

And if you bothered to read the report it also shows bow much wealth is associated with the departing taxpayers so you can get an idea of how significant their departure will be.

Should that not read at the top for millionaire flight 😁

Apparently the lefties want them gone because the departing wealthy are all nasty taxpayers, so they should try to spin it like that 😊 I'm sure our self righteous forumites will be happy to take up the slack 😃

The idea that people who have worked bloody hard to build successful businesses will just turn around to HMRC and say 'Go on mate, take as much as you like' is amusing in its naivety 🙂

For such a small group of wealthy individuals, they contribute a massive proportion of the tax revenue. For them to leave the UK creates a big hole in tax revenues, then where do the government turn to fill it, back onto lower middle earners and lower paid by indirect taxing, aswell as direct tax.

Its is the most crazy situation to be jealous of the super wealthy, for ehat they bring to the country not only in tax but job creation and innovation

Let's see your evidence for that.

As I said, it's upthread. Not my problem if you ignored it.

That's the truth of the latter's that many lefties cannot seem to grasp. That and the point that this group if taxpayers (plus a chunk of big corporate capital) I'd the most mobile, so you can't afford to scare it away. It is this lack of understanding (or refusal to believe) that has a lot of the left sticking their heads in the sand on this issue.

Can't see it so if you want to make a vaid counterpoint, just quote it or link it. And you appear to know where is, so it shouldn't be too difficult. Otherwise I'll assume you have no point.

Not really, because it makes the assumption that the wealth is on-shore, and generally if you are that wealthy it *isn't*.
