The Labour minister interviewed on R5 this morning was being tied in knots by Rachel Burden over their manifesto promise to reduce average household energy bills by £300. He squirmed and dodged the questions until she basically said it was pointless continuing the topic.

The forthcoming energy price increase coupled with gilts hitting a 27 year high yesterday is not good for their growth agenda.
