I would add, I have not followed his (Epstein's) exploits closely, since reading about others sexual exploits is not really my idea of "fun".

I read that apparently the Ovenden emails were known about before the GE last year. It's been suggested that it's not exactly a coincidence that all this stuff's happening right now.

As well as the question you ask about why it has resurfaced now, it raises a serious question about Starmer's judgement and or vetting of staff. ie why was Ovenden given his role when these were known about?
Did Starmer decide it was ok to appoint him or was it like Mandelsson and he is claiming he wasn't told about Ovenden's past

I wonder if this was sanctioned/scripted by McSweeney, or if there is an inner Starmer that this came from. It would have been better quicker, but it's much better than the initial silence and Kyle's 'freedom of speech' guff. (This was on Channel 4 News.)
