Whoever made the decision to release him must be having thoughts today.

I wouldn't have thought that a suspect for murder who is accused of assaulting someone while on remand for said murder should be considered safe to freely walk the streets. No lessons should have been needed to be learned. But that's just me. Stupid is as stupid does.
Maybe I've missed something, but was he ever in custody before being arrested after the attacks on the train at Huntingdon? He was a suspect in the DLR attack, and later for incidents in Peterborough, but never arrested for them, as far as I know.

My reading was that he was reported twice by the barber shop but both times disappeared before the Police turned up. Presumably as he had a knife, they didn't feel like trying to make him wait.

Okay. In light of more information I will revise my position.
Peterborough police are useless and incompetent. He should have been in custody.

The "rape capital" is a claim that's often made, but even a cursory glance at the statistics shows it to be nonsense. If anyone's scaremongering and gaslighting it's GBeebies, but that's par for the course for them.

I suppose they've had to move onto a new element of their Nation of Fear pish after the train attacker didn't really add much fuel for their fire.

In a rather unusual, could even say unprecedented step Rachel is making a pre budget speech.

Hold onto your wedge, it's about to be ripped out of grubby little hands

Me either, but.....

"Lessons will be learned" is the stock answer for when such stupidities do happen, and, continue to happen😊

If he did commit the DLR offence, it would appear he (at least) travelled on the London - Peterborough train twice.

A small detail, but, I wonder if he had a ticket to be on the train?, if yes, did he have the foresight to buy a return?

I thought you were too rich & important to pay Little People's Taxes.
I don't understand all this press speculation. Starmer/Reeves have already made it explicitly clear with firm commitments & promises: no income tax increase, no NI increase and no VAT increase. Plus after the budget 1 yer ago Reeves explicitly stated she "will not be coming back for more".

So why speculate when there are already firm commitments?
