It's unlikely that his citizenship will be revoked so the government, and those who supported him, will just have to suffer the embarrassment and stick him on a watchlist with those with similar views. I thought his apology was reasonable, explaing the circumstances where he was 13/15 years ago. Possibly it wasn't embellished enough for some newspapers with the appropriate level of grovelling.
